About this grant

The Bono Cultural Joven is €400 on a prepaid card for those turning 18: for event tickets, books, music, courses, instruments and creative materials. You can spend it over 12 months at about 3,950 participating venues. Those born in 2008 who are Spanish or legally resident in Spain have the right, as do asylum applicants, temporarily displaced people and foreigners previously under guardianship.

There is no selection: the bonus goes to everyone in the listed groups who applies by 31 October 2026. Digital ID Cl@ve is needed; the card arrives after approval. It is an urgent deadline for you if you were born in 2008.

Example

Example (written by us): Ana was born on 15/10/2008. On 7 October she gets Cl@ve online, on the 9th she signs in to bonoculturajoven.gob.es, picks the mixed option (€200 on arts and creativity, €100 on books and tickets, €100 on digital subscriptions) and confirms; a few days later she receives the virtual card.

An example we wrote to illustrate: it is not an official sample, replace the details with your own.

How applicants are chosen

There is no selection: everyone born in 2008 in the listed groups who applies by 31 October 2026 receives it.

What happens after you apply

The card arrives after approval; you can spend for 12 months at participating venues (tickets, books, music, courses, instruments, creative materials).

Common mistakes

  • Not getting Cl@ve early: you cannot apply without it
  • Missing the 31 October 2026 deadline
  • Assuming Spanish nationality is required: foreigners with legal residence qualify too

Tips

  • Cl@ve is also needed for the Beca MEC, so setting it up pays off twice.
