York University is a large public university in Toronto (Ontario). For international applicants it runs an automatic scholarship programme: when you apply to a bachelor's you are considered at once for a scholarship based on your final admission average, with no separate application. The page's table: the York International Scholarship of Distinction for an average of 90% or higher — $15,000 in year 1 and $7,500 in years 2-4, up to $37,500 in total; the York International Merit Award for 80-89.9% — $10,000 and $5,000 a year, up to $25,000; the York International Entrance Award for 75-79.9% — $5,000 once. The top tier is not available for Computer Science, Cybersecurity and Engineering (except for those finishing the Ontario curriculum).
The first two tiers are renewable and regainable: you need at least 24 York credits per academic year and a GPA of at least 7.5 (B+); if the GPA drops the award is lost for that year and if you get back to the minimum it is reinstated. The scholarships are applied automatically at the start of each year level and are for full-time students paying international tuition. They can be combined with faculty-based scholarships but not with “Prestigious Scholarships” such as the President's International Scholarship of Excellence (a separate record); whoever wins that gets the higher-value award.
An important caveat: the published table covers Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 (and repeats the Fall 2025 scheme). York has not yet posted the Fall 2027 terms, so check the figures on the page once they appear. The page does not explain how York converts Spanish Bachillerato marks into a “final average” — it says “or equivalent determined by curriculum”, that is by your system's scale — so ask admissions. International tuition is far higher than the scholarship, so assess the rest of the budget separately.
